The Fragrance of Flavor

Elastic City is proud to present a sunset walk in collaboration with Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Sarah Owens, rosarian at BBG’s Cranford Rose Garden, invites participants to consider the components of fragrance, how they affect pollinators in the garden, and how these fragrances compare to the flavor notes of wines. The walk will broaden participants’ awareness of taste and smell, and the biological and cultural advantages of each.

Participants will identify pre-arranged fragrance samples such as vanilla, damp earth, citrus, berry and smoke. These scents will then be compared to botanical samples of roses and other flowers, herbs and wines.

This walk holds 14 people.

The wine for this walk has been generously provided by Sip Fine Wine at 67 5th Avenue
(between Bergen St & Prospect Pl) in Park Slope.
