To the Foot From Its Child

To the Foot From Its Child By Sarah Appel

On this walk by Sarah Appel, participants will explore perceptions of beauty through auditory and tactile exercises in Brooklyn Heights. The physical terrain of the walk will be used as a guide to help map the group's internal terrain. Participants will attempt to create a picture without seeing, relying instead on memory and association.

This walk is dedicated to Sarah's father who, through his work as a landscape architect, devoted his life to the aesthetic and environmental restoration of the world.

"To the Foot From Its Child" holds 8 people and is part of "The Walk as Poem," a course taught by Todd Shalom in the Writing Program at Pratt Institute.
