Wayne Koestenbaum has published sixteen books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, including Rhapsodies of a Repeat Offender, Jackie Under My Skin, Andy Warhol, Hotel Theory, Humiliation, Best-Selling Jewish Porn Films, The Anatomy of Harpo Marx, and My 1980s & Other Essays; The Queen’s Throat was a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist in 1993. His next book of poetry, The Pink Trance Notebooks, will be published in Fall 2015 by Nightboat Books. The first solo exhibition of his paintings took place at White Columns in New York City in 2012. He has written an opera libretto (Jackie O), and published essays and poetry in The Best American Essays, The Best American Poetry, The New York Times, The New Yorker, London Review of Books, Artforum, Harper’s, The Believer, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Cabinet, and many other periodicals and anthologies. He received a B.A. from Harvard, an M.A. from Johns Hopkins, and a Ph.D. from Princeton. He has taught at Yale, in the English department as well as in the School of Art’s painting department, and is now a Distinguished Professor of English at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City.
