Matthew Jensen
Matthew Jensen is a New York-based conceptual landscape artist who explores the public experience and perceptions of a given space. Combining photography, collecting and rigorous explorations, each of his project-based works are a response to the overlooked history and beauty that resides in familiar landscapes. His recent solo exhibition at LMCC’s Art Center on Governors Island, "Searching for Something Previously Forgotten or Unknown on Governors Island", showcased numerous works that charted his various explorations throughout the island and its buildings. "Nowhere In Manhattan" is an ongoing intensive exploration into Manhattan’s parks and offbeat green spaces. Since spring 2009, Matthew has been working on "Nowhere In Manhattan", an ongoing intensive exploration into Manhattan’s parks and offbeat green spaces.
