Hayal Pozanti & Todd Shalom
Hayal Pozanti creates collage-like abstract paintings that attempt to define what the artist calls "shapes that have not existed before." While she initially worked primarily with new media, creating animations and digital collages, Pozanti turned to painting as a means of "[remembering] how it felt to use all of my body and senses while creating." This has resulted in works that explore the omnipresence of technology in contemporary culture and society through analog means. She received an MFA in Painting/Printmaking from Yale University and currently lives in New York City.
